Board Structure & Governance

The SSBMT Board

The SSBMT Board is the administrative body of the SSBMT, responsible for all running operations and decisions. It consists of nine to eleven Saudi consultants with expertise in the society field or specialization and who have been active members for at least one year. The board members are elected by the society's active members of physicians or professionals only who are registered at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. At least one third of the board members should be affiliated to the King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.

  • Decisions are made by majority voting. The Board reports to the President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
  • Board membership lasts for five years which can be renewed for two terms.
  • If a board member is recorded absent for three consecutive meetings with no valid excuse, he/she may be considered resigned.
  • The board may elect a replacement member to fill in for membership vacancy.
  • From the board members, the board elects the Society President who should be affiliated to the KSAU-HS. The board also elects a Vice-President and a Treasurer.
