SSBMT society offers two memberships to all individuals who have interest in Hematology, Hematopathology, Oncology and/or stem cell transplantation

Membership Types

SSBMT offers two categories of membership open to all individuals with an interest in Hematology, Hematopathology, Oncology and/or stem cell transplantation. Choose the type that best matches your professional profile.

Active Membership

Active Membership

Full membership for physicians and healthcare professionals working in the fields of blood and marrow transplantation, haematology, and related disciplines in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Active members hold full voting rights and are eligible to stand for election.

Eligibility
  1. This membership is open to all physicians and all professionals working in the field of:
    • Stem Cell Transplantation and cellular therapy and related applications and research
    • Blood disorders and cancer
    • Hematopathology and related specialties and technologies
  2. Possesses a valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties license.
Privileges

Members of SSBMT, will receive exposure to and interaction with the Saudi network of multi-disciplinary hematologist/oncologist/BMT experts. SSBMT membership allows members to express their views via ongoing dialog with other members of same profession to impact the changing face of hematology / BMT in Saudi Arabia.

An Active SSBMT member has the following privileges:

  1. Opportunity to get involved in SSBMT Committees.
  2. Submission of data for presentation at the annual meeting.
  3. To receive information about the SSBMT Board and other activities, cooperative studies, and results of SSBMT research projects.
  4. To have access to the SSBMT website and to statistical overviews related to hematology, oncology and BMT (subject to current privacy regulations)
    1. Discussion groups on hematology and BMT-related topics
    2. Access to BMT documentation, including lectures and other materials
    3. Updated member directory (alphabetical, geographical, institution and by discipline)
    4. Updated information on upcoming meetings
    5. Links to other relevant sites of interest
  5. To receive SSBMT News
  6. To access the annual survey of SSBMT activity
  7. Awards and Grants opportunities
  8. Physicians registered at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties who are active members of the society are eligible for voting.
Associate Membership

Associate Membership

Available to allied health professionals, non-Saudi physicians, students, nurses, pharmacists, and administrative staff of haematology or BMT centres who have an interest in the field. Associate members have access to SSBMT resources and activities.

Who Can Apply

This membership is available to allied professionals and Non-Saudi physicians who have an interest in hematology, blood and marrow transplantation, and cellular therapy and related applications. This category is especially appropriate for students, nursing and administrative staff of hematology or bone marrow transplantation centers, collection centers and processing laboratories, and for professional staff of corporations related to the field of hematology/oncology or blood and marrow transplantation.

Privileges

An Associate member has the following privileges:

  1. To submit data for presentation at the annual meeting.
  2. Opportunity to get involved in SSBMT Committees.

Honorary Membership
By Board Appointment Only

Honorary membership is awarded by the SSBMT board in recognition of outstanding services to the SSBMT. Individuals who have been awarded this accolade include founder members of the SSBMT and past presidents on their retirement. The rights of honorary members are:

  • Complimentary registration for SSBMT annual meetings
  • Complimentary gala dinner tickets for member and accompanying person

Award announced at General Assembly meeting.

General Assembly
Annual Meeting

The General Assembly works to achieve the Society's goals through the following:

  • Approval of new regulations for the internal organization of the Society.
  • Approval of the annual report.
  • Election of the Society Board.
  • Approval of the work plan.
Termination of Membership
Conditions

Membership is terminated upon

  1. Withdrawal of the member or his/her death.
  2. Upon the loss of one of the criteria for membership
  3. Upon performance of an action that results in a negative impact on the Society and upon the agreement of the SSBMT Board.
