Research & Grants

Funding opportunities and collaborative frameworks for translational and clinical research in HSCT.

Research at SSBMT

SSBMT supports and facilitates research in blood and marrow transplantation through grant programmes, multi-centre collaboration, and national registry-based studies. Our aim is to build a robust evidence base that improves transplant outcomes for patients across Saudi Arabia.

Research Priorities

Cellular Therapy
CAR-T cell therapy, NK cell therapies, and novel cellular approaches to haematological malignancies.
Outcomes Research
Registry-based studies on transplant outcomes, late effects, and survivorship in the Saudi population.
Transplant Immunology
GVHD biology, immune reconstitution, and tolerance induction strategies.
Conditioning Regimens
Novel and reduced-toxicity conditioning protocols for high-risk patients.
Infectious Complications
Epidemiology and management of infections in the post-transplant immunosuppressed patient.
Trainee Research
Support for residents and fellows conducting original research in transplant medicine.

Grant Programme

SSBMT offers competitive research grants to support original investigator-initiated studies in haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Applications are reviewed by the SSBMT Research Committee.

  • Open to SSBMT members and affiliated researchers
  • Both clinical and translational research considered
  • Annual call for applications — details published at the conference
